About the EMCDDA

The European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) is the leading authority on illicit drugs in the European Union. The Lisbon-based agency provides independent, scientific evidence and analysis on all aspects of this constantly evolving phenomenon. Its work contributes to EU and national policies to protect Europe’s citizens from drug-related harms. Inaugurated in Lisbon in 1995, it is one of the EU’s decentralised agencies. Read more >>
